The citizens of India can now register for the PM Awas Yojana Gramin. To provide free housing facilities to all the homeless citizens in India the central government of India launched the PM Awas Yojana Gramin. Under this scheme, the central government of India will target those citizens who are living in rural areas and do not have pucca houses. All the citizens of India who are living in rural areas and are financially unstable are eligible to avail the benefits of the PM Awas Yojana Gramin. When the funds are released the citizens will receive their financial assistance transferred directly to their bank account through the DBT process.

The BJP-led Central Government of India introduced the PM Awas Yojana Gramin on 20th  November 2016. Since its launch, this scheme has become one of the most glorious and appreciated works of the central government of India. According to the report, the total outlay for PMAY-G from 2024-25 to 2028-29 is INR 3,06,137 crore. By spending all this money the authorities have built a total of 5.77 million houses across various rural areas in India. This scheme has uplifted the standard of living and quality of living of all the homeless citizens in India significantly.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The families must not have a permanent house.
  • The Individuals in extreme poverty or reliant on begging.
  • Manual scavengers.
  • The Members of Primitive Tribal Groups.
  • The individuals who have been legally freed from bonded labor.
  • Priority is given to houseless families and those living in kutcha houses with non-durable walls and roofs.

  • Aadhaar Verification: To complete the Aadhar verification the individuals must submit their Aadhar Card with a self-attested copy of the Aadhar card. For illiterates beneficiaries, they must submit a consent letter with their thumbprint.
  • MGNREGA Job Card: The individuals must also have a valid Nrega Job Card.
  • Bank Account Information: To receive financial assistance the individual must submit the original and photocopies of their bank account details.
  • SBM Number: If the citizens are registered under the Swachh Bharat mission they also submit their SBM number.
  • Affidavit: To show that the citizens or their family members the not have a permanent house they must submit a government official affidavit.

STEP 2: Once the citizens reach the homepage of the official website they must click on the option called Data Entry under the heading “Awassoft”.

STEP 3: A new page will appear on your desktop screen the citizens must click on the option “login” under the heading DATA ENTRY For AWAAS+”.

STEP 4: Now the citizens must complete the login process by entering their email ID and password along with the captcha code and clicking on the option “login”.

STEP 5: The application form will appear on your desktop screen the citizens must enter all the details that are asked and attach all the necessary documents.

STEP 6: After entering all the details the citizens must quickly review it and click on the option “submit” complete their process.

Registration Process for Citizen

STEP 1: All the citizens of India who want to register under the PM Awas Yojana Gramin are requested to collect all the necessary documents first.

STEP 2: After successfully collecting all the required documents the citizens must gather them and reach their nearest Gram Panchayat office.

STEP 3: After reaching the gram panchayat the citizens must consult with the concerned official and give the official all their documents.

STEP 4: The government official will review the documents and upload all the details on the official portal.

STEP 5: After successful verification, the citizens will receive their financial assistance transfer directly to their bank accounts.

Allotment Process

  • After successful verification of the beneficiary, a sanction order is issued in the name of the respective beneficiaries.
  • This order includes a Quick Response (QR) code for tracking and the QR code will be given to the beneficiaries by sms or through the PMAY-G portal.
  • The sanction letter for the house is issued normally in the name of the woman in the household, or jointly in the name of both the husband and wife.
  • The inclusion of women promotes gender equality in property ownership.

Fund Release Process

  • After the issuing of the sanction order, the beneficiaries will start receiving financial assistance.
  • The financial assistance will be transferred directly to the bank account or post office account of the beneficiary through the DBT process.
  • By using government official applications like AwaasApp and AwaasSoft the citizens can easily monitor their installment.
