The main objective of launching the Maharashtra Vidhwa Pension is to allow widowed females to become self-dependent. This scheme will empower the female citizens by providing financial assistance to make sure that the widowed female citizens will live a comfortable life. All the widowed female citizens of India who are between the age group of 45 to 60 years are eligible to avail the benefits of the scheme.

The Social Justice & Special Assistance Department Is the nodal department that administrates the overall work under the Maharashtra Vidhwa Pension. All the female citizens who are blind, disabled, orphan children, divorced women, abandoned women, women freed from prostitution, outraged women, Transgender, etc will receive the benefits. If the beneficiaries have daughters then the financial systems will be given until the daughter of the beneficiary turns 25. With the help of financial assistance, female citizens can buy basic necessities like food and healthcare without any financial problems.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The female citizens must be a permanent resident of India.
  • The female citizens must be destitute persons, blind, disabled, orphan children, persons suffering from major illnesses, divorced women, abandoned women, women freed from prostitution, outraged women, Transgender, etc.
  • The female citizens must be below the age of 65 years.
  • The annual income of the female citizen family must not exceed INR 21,000.

  • Each Beneficiary will get INR 600 per month and families with more than one beneficiary will get INR 900 per month.
